Child Rights Collective Gujarat (CRCG)

Child Rights Collective Gujarat (CRCG) is a collective, an informal forum, of individuals and organisations working with children in Gujarat. CRCG endeavours to take up collective efforts to enable every child to access every right enshrined in the United Nation’s Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). Currently it has 75+ organisations linked to it. CRCG takes up collective challenges like (a) policy advocacy campaigns to bring in a new policy or pressure building tactics to bring about implementation of specific provision/s of an existing act (b) sharing of experiences, good practices to learn from this horizontal sharing and (c) helping smaller/remotely located organisations with capacity building, infra structural support, campaign planning, etc. CRCG has actively initiated and participated in public hearings, awareness drives (Pad Yatras/ Yatras), rallies and worked on capacity-building of partners. CRCG has been instrumental in evolving or refining policies related to education like the Right to Education Act of 2009, formation of State Commissions of Child Rights, Planning Commissions’ action plan for vulnerable children. Swapath Trust has been its secretariat since 2014.
